Background
JJ’s Waste & Recycling needed to develop a new clinical waste treatment facility in Yatala under ambitious timeframes and strict regulatory oversight. The project spanned two sites (54–56 Link Drive and 31–33 Union Circuit) and involved complex requirements (office, 3,250sqm warehouse with workshop, truck wash, transfer stations). Design finalisation and development approvals proceeded in parallel, creating tight coordination challenges. The client faced cost constraints, technical complexities (specialised autoclave equipment), and high expectations for safety and compliance.
Scope of Service
Gallagher Jeffs was engaged to peer-review the design, manage procurement, and oversee delivery as Superintendent for the Yatala facility. We aligned early with the design consultants (e.g. ACOR) to address technical issues upfront and ensure the plans met regulatory standards. A robust tender strategy was implemented to select a capable contractor amid market constraints.
