PROJECT BACKGROUND
Recent regulatory changes in Australia have resulted in new laws being put in place for new and existing buildings with combustible cladding. The Melbourne City Council advised Quay West that the cladding on the feature fin, which runs down the entire length of the façade and other locations around the building, did not comply with the new regulations.
Quay West OC and Accor Australia engaged Gallagher Jeffs to deliver Project Management and Superintendent Services for the remediation works.
SCOPE OF SERVICES
Our scope of services included; preparation of scope, facilitate the appointment design and engineering consultants, liaising with council and other authorities to confirm scope and determination of replacement, facilitation of design options, review proposed replacement products, seek confirmation and approval from fire engineers and others, facilitate the design and permit process, preparation of the tender documents.
During Construction, we assumed the role of superintendent, which included but was not limited to the administration of the construction contract; managing and monitoring the Contractor’s obligations under the Contract; providing monthly superintendent progress reports, including cost reports
