PROJECT BACKGROUND
An integrated re-development, two storey modular extension to an existing learning space. Due to growth in student population Caulfield Grammar School is extending the existing Roy Hoult Centre at the Caulfield campus. The new learning space, which caters for 100 students, is in line with current and aspired learning and staff work principles. As per the successful delivery of ‘The Learning Projects’ also of modular construction, the project team adopted the same approach for this extension retaining Hayball Architects.
SCOPE OF SERVICES
To support the delivery we are acting as project representative and administering all activities associated with design, procurement and construction management. The new learning spaces include; Science lab, science general learning area, multi-use learning spaces, workshop, new staff spaces, media and recording studio, seminar and presentation rooms and general learning spaces for adaptable use, outdoor learning and breakout spaces.
OUTCOMES
At completion, the project was under budget and delivered on programme with new student streams introduced for the 2018 curriculum.
The onsite works and impact to school, community and stakeholders was significantly reduced as a result of the modular construction methodology adopted.
