Rebrand & refurb of Ovolo Blue, Woolloomooloo

Project Background

Ovolo Blue Woolloomooloo is located at 6 Cowper Wharf Roadway, Woolloomooloo, Sydney. Formerly owned by Taj Hotels, the property was acquired by Ovolo in 2015. The new owners embarked on a full refurbishment of the hotel to reflect the ‘Ovolo Hotels’ brand. A rebranding of all exterior signage, followed by the light refurbishment of the 100 hotel rooms, a refresh of guest amenities incl. gym and pool, the refresh of all public spaces incl. corridors and lift car interiors, and the upgrade of the existing bar and lounge area, as well as the relocation of reception.

As Project Managers on the Ovolo Woolloomooloo refurbishment Gallagher Jeffs delivered a high involvement service, developing an intimate understanding of the design objectives, project concerns and details of the project’s deliverables. This involved approach has allowed us to effectively manage the design development, approvals, tender and construction phases of this unique hotel allowing the hotel to trade throughout the works.
