Gallagher Jeffs was appointed by Ascendas as superintendent and project manager to deliver the upgrade of 5 recently purchased hotel assets across the eastern seaboard. At the time of acquisition, the majority of the assets were operated under the Sebel & Citigate brand and were owned by Mirvac. Works to each hotel varied, including the refurbishment of rooms, public spaces, external works and the delivery of complete hotel rebrands. Interior design for the projects was primarily sourced from Malaysia with services design being provided in Australia.
Value engineering of the design was of critical importance to each project to reduce cost and involved alternative material selection, alterations to the scopes of works and modifications to FF&E schedules.
The projects have been led from Gallagher Jeffs Sydney office and have leveraged local personnel in each project state to manage the progression of works through construction. This model has provided a cost effective and high touch solution for Accor and Ascendas.
