Project background
Haileybury was provided with BER government funding for the construction of a new Library and Resource Centre building located at their Brighton campus. The building is located in a prominent position on the campus at the southern end of the main football oval and therefore required a high level of design to suit.
It is a two-storey building consisting of the main library and back of house facilities on the ground floor with an external courtyard area. The back of house area also accommodates the Haileybury Brighton IT staff and back-up IT server room for all campuses. The first floor consists of 4 no. resource/classrooms with operable walls for maximum flexibility. There is also a male and female toilet located on the first floor.
Scope of services
Project management
Gallagher Jeffs was appointed as project manager for the delivery of the new Library & Resource Centre. Our scope of works included: management of design, construction tender and head contract administration, and overall project cost and program management.
The project was under strict time and cost constraints due to the required opening in term 1 2011 and the allocated government funding for the project. Gallagher Jeffs successfully delivered the project on program and under budget to the satisfaction of Haileybury.
