As a long term client, Gallagher Jeffs have established a ‘trusted advisor’ relationship with the DEXUS Property Group. From this relationship Gallagher Jeffs were given the opportunity to manage Kathmandu's latest and largest DC in Truganina Melbourne. 

Kathmandu is leading the charge not only in the retail world of outdoor gear but in the distribution arena where they team upped with technology company “Dematic” who helped Kathmandu incorporate the latest in supply chain management technology to their largest DC to date. 

Dematic’s technology will assist Kathmandu sort and deliver high volumes of stock to its network of 115 stores while supporting a growing online domestic and international customer base

The specialised software “Dematic IQ”, is at the heart of Kathmandu’s supply chain management and delivers a more accurate and faster “batch pick and sort technology” in turn giving customers a faster and more accurate retail experience.

The technology will also support the future growth plans of the company, but also ensure the company can quickly adapt to an ever-changing marketplace. Demonstrating that technology is key to delivering a better shopping experience for consumers.  

This facility is one of a few industrial facilities in Victoria to achieve a 5 Star as Built rating from the Green Building Council Australia. The initiative was a combination of DEXUS and Kathmandu.

The 25,000sqm Truganina DC went live in the third quarter of 2016. Gallagher Jeffs were proud to be part of such a forward thinking project.
